Programmer?

RE: Programmer?
I have the superchips programmer on my truck. I have never actually found out exactly what it gives me on a dino. This is something I can feel the HP change when I install it. You don't have to actually pull out the CPU and change the chips it over writes the program in the truck. Another nice feature is that you have different set program times. It has a Performance option which you need to use 91 Octane fuel with this option but it has the highest increase in HP. It has a towing option that helps with pulling large loads. If gas prices are too high it gives you a performance option that runs off 87 octane gas. It also lets you change options like shift points, shift pressure, temperature at which the fan comes on. Things like that. I like it and think that its a good investment.

RE: Programmer?
I got the same programmer, I notice a diffrence in everything even start up. Lets you go way over 100mph too, but I'd look at the new hypertech trinity should be out in a few months, I'm gonna be switching to that system.

RE: Programmer?
Trinity is Diablosport, same as Predator. Hypertech makes the Power Programmers 1 - 3 and the Max Energy.
I like the Predator the best but it has its moments of "pissing me off". The programmer really opened up the damn thing. It feels like a big block, and I know I can squeeze more out of it, BUT everytime I floor it and then lay off the pedal before the 3>4 shift it will start shifting pretty hard. It has to be shut off for 30 seconds to clear it. Supposedly they have a fix for it but I can't get it to work just yet. (They email you a custom tune that you **** with and it will fix the problem, so far it is still there). I can deaden the hard shifting with the line pressure setting but it feels too sloppy when its not in the "hard shifting" mode (the problem shifting).

WARNING - there is a service bulletin at the dealerships for Flex fuel trucks. If they do the upgrade to your computer the Hypertech will not work. I have an '06 and can no longer use my programmer. This may affect other programmers.

RE: Programmer?
I just got my new summit catalog today and they have the new hypertech max energy for 379. I just have to figure out how to make it seem to my wife that i need it for my truck to run properly, hmmm oh wait, I'll tell her that it will increase my MPG. BRILLIANT!!!
