Programmers on the NBS Silverados
I have a few questions for people with the NBS Silverados.
1. Do you know how out trucks record the engine hours in the NBS's, well after you program your truck, and set the truck back to stock, what happens to the engine hours, does it set it back to stock or what? and with what programmer is it with? and I dont want to void my warrenty, and I know most programmers claim they wont....
2.I know the programmers can raise your top speed limiters, but does anyone have expirience with raising it and how is it then? and what else can you do with our computers on these trucks, and what not. Is there a noticeable power difference? anything....
3. recommendations.... (I am looking between the Hypertech Max Energy, Superchips Flashpaq or Cortex, or the Triple Dog Gas Downloader, and last, the Edge Evolution with the in-cab mount.)
I already have the K&N intake, my Corsa Exhaust goes on March 11th, and followng that soon will be the Mass Air Flow Sensor, TBS, and headers with the high flow cats from Dynatech. And this is all going on a 08 Silverado 5.3L ECSB Z71
Let me know what you all think please. It would be greatly appreciated!!!

RE: Programmers on the NBS Silverados
If you want the most bang for your buck, dont get a handheld. Get a custom tune.
Westers, Nelson, Blackbear, and Wait 4 me all do tunes for your truck.
Nelson is great on the NBS trucks, but it is pretty expensive. Its either $300 something or $500, not quite sure.
I do know the wait for me tune for my 2000 Sierra is $158.
You can e-mail the tuners and tell them what you want from your tune.
at www.gmtrucks.com on their forums there is a LOT of info about NBS truck tunes. check them out.

Exactly! it needs to be reprogrammed back to stock when taken back to the dealership to set back to stock.
