The other day, i plugged up a scan tool to my 04 silverado with a 4.8. It didnt power up, and the guy at the auto parts store said this was typical of silverados. Didnt think anything of it, went about my business. Well today I got my hypertech 3 programmer in. Went to play with it, and sure enough, it does not power up. I checked my fuses, as it said in the troubleshooting guide, and found the cigarette lighter blown. It also said to check the accesory circuit, which i was not able to locate. Checked a few other fuses, but there was too many too pull tonight. Still will not power up, any ideas?

 

the lighter fuse powers the scanner.maybe it blew again

 

That was the first thing that came to mind, so i checked it. the fuse was still ok, but i need to ohm it out. Ive seen fuses look good, but still be bad. What pins on the diag port supply power and ground?

 

i',m not sure without looking it up...but there is only one12v pin

 

ok, i checked the fuse with my meter, sure enough, looked good, but was bad. replaced it, and it went to working.
