RE: Rattling noise in Dash...very annoying!
Update: I took my truck into the nearest GM service center and they found what they rattling noise was. It was the transmission dipstick underneath the truck. Not quite sure on how they fixed it or if it was pressing up against something metal. Just wanted to give an update just in case someone else had the same problem.

My 08 GMC Sierra has an intermittant noise in the dash as well. It sounds like it is coming from behind the glovebox. At first I thought it was the blower motor, but changing the fan speed has no effect on it. It seems to do it alot while driving, running in v4 mode just before switching to v8. Could this be the "dipstick" issue, and is it a known issue? My dealer acted like they had no idea.

Hi guys
i have the same rattling noise in the cab left side, but according to mechanic is the fuel pump thats doing it,if you lessen carefully you will find that the rattling is coming from the back seat, and the fuel pump is there check it out.

Rattle coming from dash near passenger side when stopped or at low speed
Just bought a 2013 Silverado 1500. Noticed a super annoying rattle sounded like it was coming from the dash near passenger side. My buddy lifted up the hood and noticed the tube for my transmission dipstick was really loose. Rolled himself under the truck and located where the tube was bolted to the body and just tightened it up and fixed the rattle noise.
