Default RESALE VALUE

My friend bought a 2008 Silverado 4x4 last November(2007). He always had a GMC, so he went to a dealer yesterday to see about a trade for a 2009 Sierra. His truck has 11,000 miles and the sticker was $35,000 last year. The dealer would only give him $15,000 for the Silverado. That sucks!!!

It's just how the market is, the days of trading up every year are gone

Instead of trading, selling the truck to someone or putting it in an auction can give you a higher value for your ride.

He's obviously going to get the top dollar by selling it to an individual, but it could take a while because trucks aren't selling these days and the dealers are selling new ones for so cheap that buyers don't often look at nearly-new ones.
If he wants to move it fast he'll get the best price at a Carmax (if there's one nearby). I've found that they offer the best money for clean late-model vehicles and will pay immediately.
