Default Rocker panel guards

I did a little searching around on the forum but found no information about my question. After i ask im going to research some on the web, but i wanted to ask you guys to see if you knew.

You know the little rocker panel guard that sits slightly above the rocker panel it has that little stip of crome tirm on it (I'll post apicture to helpwith avisualiffor somereason you dont in what im talking about). What is holding that bad boy on? I want to remove mine because it is only on the doors and i just dont like the look of it all that much. I'm thinking that its only that double stick tape but i want to make sure there are no holes or anything from screws or a posiable nail holding it on. Also is it painted under there? i would imagin it is because they kinda have to paint the truck first before thay can put those on. I like the thought behind it i just wish that they ran the full length of the truck. Thanks for the help.

Take it off I did and it looks so much better! I used a hard plastic thing to pry it up then a razor to cut the tape. I tried a few things to get the tape off after and the best thing I fond was PB Blaster. You might want to try a heat gun or a hair drier that might be the easiest way. I didnt have one or I would have. Make sure you got finger nails!

It a spray oil like WD40 but it penetrates much better and its magnetic so it awesome for getting rusty bolts.

Well i finally got my rocker panel covers off and it looks hella better. I would have some pictures up right now but i just got done and its dark here. The hair drier was the best way to take it off for me any way. I had to used some 3M adheives remover to get the glue off of my truck. The whole prosess was a royal pain in the *** and my thumbs are raw as hell but it was definalty worth it. Again pictures will be posted tomarrow after I get off work.

Thanks for the help rxsteven!
