Serpentine Belt Replacement
Hey guys, so I bought a replacement serpentine belt, went to put it on and it's just barely too short. It's about 3/4" shorter than the current one on... but the freaking packaging says for "Chevy 5.0L".
Is it safe or possible to adjust the tensioner pulley/take it apart and move it to fit it the belt? The pulley's spring loaded you lift with a socket and breaker bar.

Yep. You got the wrong belt. Get the right one and it'll go on pretty easy.
The only maintenance item I buy at Walmart is motor oil. I use Mobil One in all my gas trucks, and it's always cheaper at Walmart than anywhere else. The also have a 5 quart container that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. Everyone else has a 4 quart, and it costs about the same as Walmart's 5 quart container. Still need to buy an extra quart with the 5 qt container, though.
