Sierra 8.1 stall

Default Sierra 8.1 stall
[align=left]My 2001 Sierra intermittently stalls, sometimes when driving, sometimes when idling. It always starts right back up after stopping. Check engine light not on. Changed fuel filter. Getting ready to hook up a scanner to look for codes then check my fuel pressure. Is there any sensors that might cause this condition?[/align]

fuel pump..OR...8.1's are known for crank sensors going out....a nightmare to change
