silverado shakes

Default silverado shakes

my 99 silverado starts to shake at @ 60 mph. had tires balanced,upper and lower control arm bushings replaced . upper and lower ball joints replaced , shocks ,rotors and it still shakes. i read somewhere to replace the cab bushings. any info or help would be greatly appreciated

My 89 did that once.... turned out to be i needed new universal joints....

i replaced them and the carrier bearing last year ,@ 15,ooo ago

TIE ROD ENDS !!!!!!!!!!! if you feel it in the steering wheel thats what it is.....or a bent rim is possible too

im replacing the tie rod ends this weekend . i feel the shake in the steering and the cab but worse in the cab . i have 280,000 mi on it so the stuff needed to be replaced anyway. if that doesnt work next will be the sway arm bushings.

while you are under it check your motor and tranny mounts if one of these are bad it can cause a body shake too

i have a buddy at chevrolet who gave me a great deal on a crate motor and tranny with chev warranty and all the mounts were replaced . and i checked them . this has been going on for a while. someone told me possobly the rack and pinion , floating rack? . dont know how to check it?.
but it does have 270,000 maybe need to replace it.

no rack n pinion as far as i know....it sounds like a bad u joint tranny or motor mount loose front end parts or bent rim

Mine does the same thing. At 45 MPH. Every time like a bent rim. But I only feel it in the back. Im thinkin the carrier bearing.

did my tie rod ends this morning . it helped a little. i remember when u could get tie rod ends for 8 bucks,now they are 55 bucks. now after the whole front end is finished , its time for alignment and i'll check my carrier too
