I'm a loyal Chevy guy...I'm on my 3rd Silverado....and will probably buy a 4th....however....I will say this.....GM has been fair to me with covering flaws on my truck....the troubling part about it is that there seems to be a lot of flaws to cover...and I had to go so far as to threaten to use legal action to get GM to take care of it. I've had about 7 steering shaft replacements, hub bearings have been replaced 2 times, transmission is about to go, water pump is going out, I've got piston slap like you wouldn't believe, and for a truck that's only 4 years old...I sure do have a lot of squeaks and rattles.

I think it's undeniable that Toyota makes a good product...and in my opinion the new Tundra is a worthy competitor...definately worth a test drive and a fair comparison to the NG 07 Silverado....I drive a LOT...I can rack up 150,000 miles in 4 years..and in my opinion with the advancement of technology and considering I'll drop 35 grand on a new truck...I expect to get around 150-175 relatively trouble free miles with proper maintenance. (trouble free meaning no major or design issues)

I'll probably stick with the Silverado....one more time....but if I'm plagued with as many "issues" on the new Silverado as I have been with my current one....Toyota will get a harder look next time.

Everyone should do this when they get a chance: Go to eBay and look up the Silverado, Mileage-highest first. Then, go to Toyota Tundra, Mileage-highest first. Look at the miles on these trucks.
