Default Spindles or Control Arms?

I want to lower my 98 1500 ext. cab Silverado 2 inches in the front and 4 inches in the rear. I don't know whether to go with spindles or control arms in the front. Companies who sell spindles say that control arms are terrible and sellers of control arms say that spindles are terrible. I just want an honest answer as this truck is my daily driver andride/handling is very important to me. Any help would be appreciated!

Also, with that 4 inch drop, will I need a c-notch? It is 2wd as well.

Just sell it and buy a 4-wheel drive and you will have no issues. Just kidding - I do not understand lowering. I have always tried to find a way to gain height not lose it. It must be the redneck in me.

I have lowered NBS trucks using 3" springs and also using 2" spindles and 1" springs, the spindles are a noticeable difference over just springs and going with just the spindles your ride should stay the same. There are some things you should be aware of with the spindles though, one- you need to have at least 17" wheels for the lower ball joint to clear and even then you will have to use their smaller ball joint nut and cut off the remaining threads below the nut, two- you should be careful when selecting spindles, with some you might be able to run smaller rims but you will loose a noticeable amount of turning radius. I do apologize I have not installed the control arms so I have no experience with them but I am sure someone here does and they will probably offer additional advice. Good luck with your lowering.

Both should give you an equally good ride, check if you need to replace the ball joint with the control arms and add that to the price. With a 2" drop going with spindles or controll arms price would be the deciding factor, find out the total cost of both and use the one that cost less. I am very happy with the Belltech spindles, you just might need to modify the lower ball joint. Check stylinconcepts.com or summitracing.com they usually have the lowest prices around.
