Squeaky Brakes
While driving sometimes not all the times, usually only can hear it at low speeds. The brakes seem to squeak, if i barely apply pressure to the brake pedal it goes away. It seems to come from the rear of the truck. Sometimes it doesnt do it at all. Can be annoying driving thru town. Any thoughts ? it on my 2007 Chevy silverado 4x4 z71. It has drum rear brakes and disc front. Also any ways to tighten up the parking brake, or will it tighten up with a brake job?
Thanks in advance.

When you replace your rear shoes take the leading and trailing edge of them and bevel them just slightly. Some come that way some don't (they all should!) If your current shoes have life left make sure they are beveled. Clean everything up with some brake cleaner and you should be good. I had a 2500 GMC that would drive you insane with the squeaking. An old timer told me about the the bevel trick and they were quiet after that. It doesn't take much your just trying to remove that sharp edge from scraping the drum.
