Go figure. Havent had time to get truck to dealer. Truck has set for at least 5 days without attempting to start. Has set 2 weeks total. Just for the heck of it I tried today and it started!
I guess I can rule out fuel pump, filter etc and go the electrical problem route? Or if it WAS a passlock glitch, does anyone have a surefire method to re-set if it happens? I have seen many, such as hold key on on position for 10 minutes etc, but I need to know if there is an "official" way to do it.

Thanks
KH

Heard of a trick: Tap on tank with rubber mallet while cranking, and if truck starts, it is the fuel pump.
It worked. replaced fuel pump & back in business.
Thanks for everyones input.

What about the pass lock? Or was it the pump the whole time?

Well so far it appears to have been the pump, but strangely enough, when I got into it last night (It was unlocked) Alarm triggered, but truck did start.
This truck has a ton of miles on it. My wife has a 99 but with 60,000 less miles. It has been trouble free so far.

GM and fuel pumps just don't seem to like eachother. I've replace both my dad's fuel pump in his 00 Sierra and my sister's 03 cavalier pump within the last month and a half. If mine goes out any time soon I'm gonna be ticked!

I miss the days before the use of ECMs and PCMs and sensor this and that. Remember when it didn't start and it was either the starter, ignition system, or fuel system. Something simple to fix (except pump depending on year). I mean I was always able to figure it out and fix it relatively cheap and quick. Now it could be ANYTHING just about, and its never cheap.

My mechanic told me to hold onto the 91' with the idea that if I liked "do-it-yourself" repair that the 91' (or anywhere in that ballpark) was the truck to have. Well he was right but I just love the engine in this 99'.

jcb...think twice about that..lol

people have forgotten on older cars...
chokes that stick and flood
plugs every year
carbs that needed adjusting
points..aghhhhhh

yes, high tech has its issues, but the cars are much better,at least in my opinion.

but..yeah,i hear ya...sometimes simpler is better
