When i first leave in the morning and Im backing up i have to turn hard to the left, or when im backing out of a parking space and turning left, my steering gets really hard to turn almost like it doesn't have power steering, then suddenly it will release and turn normal. It doesn't do it anytime when im turning right just left.

 

Looked around , see if you had another post ,no luck . What is your vehicle , does it have rack and pinion.

 

Mines been doing that awhile now. Turns out to be a bad ball joint and pitman arm. Plus its out of allignment. Might just want to test the ball joints and pitman first if you have that type of steering
