Stereo Wattage?

Stereo Wattage?
Anyone know the specs on the stock(NON BOSE) GM Stereo in my 2002 Silverado? It has the single CD with seperate Cassette player in console below and speed sensitive volume, the options sheet the dealer gave me refers to it as the "enhanced" system. I am looking to add a EQ and amp to my system and need to know what the stock output is so I can figure what size amp I want.

personally if you plan on adding a EQ and amping your current speakers you should just get aftermarket speakers.i have a 2000 Silverado with the six speaker set up (6 1/2" + tweeter in door, 4x6" in rear panel) and just with a aftermarket stereo(pioneer which puts out 50w max,35rms by 4 channels) and i still eadily distort the speakers. i recently put in 6 1/2" pioneer d-series component speakers inthe door and 5 1/4"pioneers inthe rear pannel and with just the cd player is soundspretty good.
the only thing that sucks about amping in this truck is how little amperageyou have left in the alternator. i'm running 2 12" audiobahns with 800w rms going to them, and just that alone is giving me voltage drop without getting the full power to them.
plus don't most EQ's put out 50w by 4 channels rms anyways? thats pretty good for the speakers alone nevermindadding an amp.

C.R.E.A.M do you have any pictures of your install? What did you have to alter to install the rears? I intend to change the speakers in time and was considering the Pioneers,I was surprised at the amount of Bass the 6.5" component setup had, they are rated down to 35HZ though. I have read very good things about the Phoenix Gold components, but they only go down to 45HZ and I can't find a dealer to go listen to them, and I won't buy without hearing them first. I was thinking about your amperage issue, evenwith the lower output alternator(105 VS 135) you should still be fine. What guage power wire are you running, and I assume you are going directly to the battery?

I don't have any pictures of my install at all, but i can tell you to alter the rear is pretty easy. putting in 6x9's will be harder cause you will have to cut the sheet metal to fit the speaker, and thats why i went with 5 1/14" speakers there since all i had to do was drill new holes.
are you planning on getting some subwoofer(s) in your truck cause if you are i would forget the 6x9's. i know the pioneers put out good lows cause i used to have them in my '94 roadmaster. but once you put in subs you only use the speakers for highs and mids, and the best ones are round speakers for that. but if you don't add subs then i would go with the 6x9's.
as far as phoenix gold goes i woulnd't get it. they are rated for only 45hz but they are a very untrusty brand. they overplay their RMS alot, just like power akoustics. so its hard to find a really nice set from PG. so i would try to stick with brands like pioneer, kicker, infiniti and so on.
as far as my amperage problem goes i'm not sure whether i have the 105amp or the 135amp alternator, but i am running 2g power and ground to the amp, and the ground is only 1 foot in length. so that should be fine for 800w rms. the amp itself is a Hifonics Brutus series amplifier which can put out 1500w RMS @ 1ohm. and the subwoofer i plan to put in will need all of it so i was gonna pick up a higher amperage alternator, a 2nd battery (yellow top), 1/0 wire and re-do my grounds from my alternator to my battery just to make sure i wont have the problem when i want to really slam it.
so as far as installing i would definately go with name brand stuff, and if adding a sub, then definately get round speakers that will fit with only drilling more holes.
