Stock exhaust upgrade
I've got a 1998 k1500 with a 305 and would like to upgrade the stock exhaust, I would like to get a little more power if possible and give the truck a better sound. I don't want to go with duals, I would like to leave the stock exhaust if I can will a glass pack do what I am looking for and how tough is it to install?

RE: Stock exhaust upgrade
I think a Magnaflow would be good for you, as long as you want it to sound good, not completely loud.
You will lose power with a glasspack compared to a true muffler.
Ive got a 3" SI/2.5" DO Magnaflow on my 5.3 and with the dual tips, it sounds good.
Paid $280 for the whole thing.
Or, if you want loud but still want to retain backpressure, look at a FLowmaster 40 or 44.

I would go with a flowmaster. That is the muffler that I have one right now. Its a single in duel out and its only really loud when I get one the gas. When the cruze is on its nice and quiet. If you dont want the loud sound then i would go in to the 50 series or some were along those lines. Flowmaster actually makes a muffler for truck and SUV's its probably a little quiter.
