Straight pipes..?

RE: Straight pipes..?
Yes they can weld in a Y-pipe, but that is kinda pointless and costs more. You will be reducing to 1 pipe, then opening back up to 2 before the muffler. Then you have to pay for 2 mufflers. Another option is to put a Y after the single muffler if you want a single out adnd you can put dual pipes after.I would do a single in dual out though. Do whichever you like though, that is just my opinion.

Yea, I have always wondered about the advanteges of true duals versus a SI/DO.
I know I want to retain a good bit of backpressure though.
Or would it be benificial to dual it from the cats back?

Do not dual it from the cats back as you lose way too much backpressure. I know from experience.

Now I just need to find some exhaust sound clips of some FM 44's. The only ones of 5.3's I found on Youtube were usually duals.
Ill look again...
Oh and heres a pic of my truck.

Truck looks nice. If you look on flowmaster's website you can get the sound clips you are looking for. Here is the link : http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/mufflers.html. just click on the muffler you want to hear near the bottom of the pageand it will open that mufflers page and give you a sound byte option near the picture.
