Switching from 3:42 to 4:10

RE: Switching from 3:42 to 4:10
With 4.10s it won't be that bad but what I meant was with like 4.30 or 4.56 like hunt was saying, that would be crazy to install. Also, changing the rear end ratio always affects top speed. That's the trade off. Top speed vs. acceleration. You want a nice top speed, the low factory gears are good for that. You want acceleration, 4.10s. I definitely wouldn't go any higher than 4.10s though. Not on a daily driver atleast. Maybe if you were drag racing it or something.

RE: Switching from 3:42 to 4:10
I am mainly looking for power and mileage so it sounds like 4:10 with 33ish is the way to go. Now if i was to go with 35" tires then i should go with 4:56 but i will not be putting that size tires on this truck i would pay this one off and get another that is not my daily driver and then i can get some 35 or bigger tires and 4:56 or bigger gears for that truck. In years and years to come.

John - it only shifts at those points under heavy acceleration, mlike when you floor it off the line, otherwise it shifts just like your truck. My milage now is 15.5-16.5 with gunning it all the time and showing off, but when I drive it normally it is 17.5+. I have not had a chance to do a long constant run yet though.
