Default T Stat

Ok just real quick I am going to buy the transdapt TBS and a thermostat from summit. There is a jet on summit for like 53 bucks and a hypertech from stylin trucks. The hypertech is like 63, anyways what brand of stats do you guys have. Is 50+ bucks good or expensive, because I know you have to replace the housing and everything when you replace them. Hope to hear some feedback, want to order tonight or tomorrow. Thanks guys!

I paid 50 for mine, its not a simple plate like the old ones, its the entire water neck assembly, so those prices are about right. Have no idea about Jet but the Hypertech is a two stage Stat. They are both good brands.

I have the Hypertech. No probs and more power. Just to clarify, the 99-03 trucks, you have to get the tstat with a housing. the 04 and up trucks just need a tstat...

If you live in a colder climate like myself you want a 180 stat. the lower temp stats run your engine at a cooler temp than the stock one does there for giving you more power. The stock one I believe is around the low 200 degree range (210-220).

Now my question. My truck is listed below. Am I going to need to buy a whole housing? My speed shophas just stats for like $10. I am assuming thats not what I want. Would anyone happen to be able to give me a part number or a link for whatI might need? Thanks

6mins2live:

Yours is just the Stat itself, the little disk only with a gasket. So yours should be cheap.
