I have the OEM intake(slightly modified) with the Trans Dapt torque curve spacer on there and the intake pipe rubs the fan shroud. But I checked on like 2 months later and it was fine. No rub through or anything. Apparantly there really isn't enough vibration there to cause them to eat through eachother. I did however have a time squeezing the intake tube back into place between the throttle body spacer and the fan shroud. It basically had shove the one end onto the throttle body as much as possible then just push the pipe straight down to squeeze it in... thought I was gonna break it but it's fine. It's really a straight forward install though and the gains are well worth it.

Ok, got the TBS on finally. I ended up trimming a section of the fan shroud about 1" back where the tube comes out of the throttle body. I have about 1/4" clearance from the fan itself, so noissues there. I am gonna go back in later and do the coolant bypass cause the colant hose on the driver side won't go all the way back on, and I don't have a piece of pipe to do it. Funny, when I took off the 2 hoses no coolant leaked out!?!? Anyhoo, I noticed a bit more throttle response, but I'll have to wait and see about the mileage increase. Thanks for the info all. This site is awsome!!

I didn't really notice any mpg but I just go by my digital mpg gauge.

I didn't have to remove my coolant lines to install mine but I am planning to do the coolant bypass mod myself.... I have the stuff to do it I just never think about it.

You should notice a little milage increase, I can't remember the amount, but I think it was .5 mpg.

Smoke, will you post the address for blackhorse that you got your TBS from?

So, the smooth is for low-mid and torque curve is for mid-high gains. Do I have that right?

No, if you'll go on summitracing.com it explains it. Basically smooth is like stage1(mild increase+whistleing) and torque curve is like stage2.

I bought mine from another Truck Forum member that got a deal with his CAI and they threw in another one, so he had 2. Usuallly you can get them for $50 though. The torque curve is supposed to have a little more power, butwith the slight annoyance of the whistle that some like.

The torque curve doesn't whistle. The smooth bore does I think and most other TBS's do but the torque curve was designed to be the best while also removing the annoying whistle.
