Default not much

well today i attempted to winch out a t750 skid loader at work almost had it up out of the hole but it was stuck to good kept sliding back into the hole and when it did that it was trying to pull my truck with it so i detached and hooked up the semi to it got it out after a few pulls
oh and i put an optima yellow top in the truck today for a better battery to help winch as my stupid interstate mega tron 2 kept going down to nothing when i had a load on i understand that it will go down and back up but it would drain as soon as i hit the in button
that is what i did today
oh and yes i left my truck running and i had it in neutral with my foot on the brake just incase that very thing happened the getting pulled forward
so i wouldnt ruin the parking pin in the trans

Redid the front brakes on my '96, put on new sway links (what a pain in the butt, might I add. Gotta turn down the torsion bars all the way then jack up the control arm to get the dumb bolt to go through the gigantic sway bar), rotated the tires. Changed the oil and put in a new air filter yesterday, new chevy floor mats, seafoam in the gas.

I have new shocks I'm prolly gonna put on tomorrow. Then I gotta figure out how to get my tailgate open cause the handle is broke and the driver side latch is stuck.

I was gonna change the oil after work, but didn't feel like crawling under the truck at -20. I need to do it soon though, its been about 500 miles since the light came on.

Put a pitman and idler on my 96 K1500 ... that was fun. Broke my pickle fork trying to separate the idler from center link. I ended up renting a pitman arm puller and using it to separate the studs center link. Getting the idler off of the swivel bracket was fun though. Three whacks with a hammer and she popped right off! Getting the idler on though ... that was fun. I had to clamp the bracket and idler the vice really tight in order to keep the swivel bracket from spinning when I tried to get the nut on ...

So. For the record, this 1/2" electric impact wrench from harbor freight is a life saver ... took the pitman lock nut off of the steering shaft no problem at all! Made my life significantly easier today.

Default Changed the

Today my uncle and I changed out the thermostat in my truck it was no where near the pain I thaught it to be. Due to the water pump had been replaced by the previous owner it was a different style thermostat then I was used to it was on the pass side of the engine that's why I thaught it was going to be a pain but was not very simple to get to

I pulled my truck into a old heated car wash today, got it up on jack stands, and spent the -20 degree outside day, I spent the day in a tee-shirt under my truck. I did quite a bit of work because it recently hit 100,000 miles.

I changed all my shocks, ball joints and CV axles.

Changed the engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, tranny fluid, transfer case fluid, differential fluids and replaced the thermostat.

I gave the truck a good wash inside and out.

I took the back bumper off and hammered out the small dent under the passanger side tail light, and then fixed the plastic on the front bumper.

I replaced all the filters I could think of.

And then to top it all off, I put on a new set of tires.

Here is a pic of my work shop.

That is the corner of the bumper I straitened.
