I would like to paint the ugly textured plastic bumper top and lower on my 2004 3500 hd. Chevy does not make a paintable replacment. So I need to paint. ??What type of sandpaper and what type of paint prep for primer should I have the painter aply. Any help Thanks

 

Look at suburban front bumpers. The tops are painted on those. As for the bottom my buddy just took rattle can primer and a rattle can red and painted it. The only issue was that in the winter he hit a snow drift and it flaked off.

 

did a little body work in high school be sure your painter uses "FLEX" additive to the primer and paint. This will eliminate the flakeing of the paint. Hope this information helps.
