Default Tire Question!! NEED HELP!!

I have a 2003 Silverado C15002WD Regular Cab Long Bed. MY buddy has a 2007 Silverado Classic K1500 4wdCrew Cab Regular Bed.

He recently had new 20" rims and tires installed on his truck and he wants to practically give me the factory chrome rims and tires that came with his truck.

There's a catch. They're a little bigger than the ones currently on my truck. Both my rims and his stock ones are the standard 6-lug setup.

But, I have 16" rims and he has 17". My tires are the Chevy recommended alternate size for my truck P255/70/R16.

His original stock tires are P265/70/R17. I REALLY want these tires because his giving them to me for practically nothing and they're nice rims that I think would look nice on my truck.

My question is: Will I do any harm whatsoever by putting these tires and rims on my truck? Will it affect the transmission, performance, handling etc?

THANKS for the help to anyone who posts. This is my first post and I visit this site often.

I talk to a guy at a chevy dealer and he said that the 6-lug pattern will fit.

Does anyone out there know for sure if the lug pattern is different on an 03 and 07? They're both 6-lug and the center caps look the same.

Also, how do I go about getting the speedometer corrected? If the wheels fit, I'm going to put them on myself.
