Default tire size, yes I did say it

I am sure people ask this question all the time. I did a lot of reserch on it and I cant find a definate asnwer. I have a 2007 chevy silverado extended cab 2500 HD. I now have 245/70/16's and they look so so small. I would like to go with the max tires size with my 16 inch rims. From what I found I think I can go with 285.75/16's but I want to be sure before I order them. I would also like to go a little wider if possible. Go easy on me I am a newbie

285's are wider.

The first number is the width of the tire in millimeters. The second number is the percent of the width that is the sidewall, and the third number is the width of the rim in inches.

285's will be 20mm wider and 44mm taller. The truck will sit only 22mm taller though

I do not know what size will fit

This website allows you to see the differences in tire size as compared to stock size.

You may need to have the speedo and ABS reprogrammed if changing too much from the stock size since it is a newer truck.

BFG 285-75/16 will fit just fine So will 315-75/16

285's mounted are only 32" You'll need to take 3/4 of an inch off the math
