Torsion Keys
I have been looking to get a leveling kit for my truck and i haveseensomepostsabout the torsion keys. What would the advantage of the torsion keys be over just cranking up the torsion bars. Or would it be better for me to save up some money and just get a lift? I dont want too much lift probably 3 inches would be the best for me.

RE: Torsion Keys
I did the torsion bars, and to be honest they F**K your front suspension travel over. Being just a teenager I dont have near the income of what it would take for a real lift, so I went that route. Do NOT crank your keys, It'll cause problems on top of taking all of your travel away. The Pro to putting the new torsion keys in is that they stiffen the front end which makes better turning on road, but off road you feel every peice of gravel you hit. If you can save the 1400$ get a real lift dude.

If you crank the stock keys it will ride like crap, but if you get the lift keys, you can get 2-3" of lift and retain the stock ride. There is a kit available that gives lift keys and shock spacers for the front, and blocks for the rear for about 3" lift and only costs $350 or so. I don't know what size tires it will fit, but if it will fit 35s I am going to get it.

I just don't know howbig a tire you can fit. You may be better getting the lift keys for $50, and making your own blocks and brackets if you can.

RE: Torsion Keys
Thanks smoke i think it would probley be just as effective to do that And it would save some money but i cant find any 3" torsion keys they are all 2".
A little lower on that page it recomends using no bigger then 33" tires that is what could be used without rubbing. but im sure that you could get away with a little bigger if you just cut a little away. Right now im running about 32" so i think i would be sitting pretty and that would allow room for chains if i need them.
Ihave always been worried about buying**** like that from ebay. For some reason it im uncomfortable about it.
Thanks again for the info and link!
