Default Tps ses p0122 p0121 p0108 p0306

silverado 99 4.3L 5sp 2wd ext cab

ended up replacing my TPS, which seems to have solved the issues. When removing the original TPS, about a teaspoon of oil dripped out of the recess in which it mounts. Is the presence of oil normal?

longer version: the symptoms were rapid onset of pinging going up interstate hills and the service engine soon SES light coming on. The codes were P0122 P0108 P0306. Spark plug #6 was in fine condition visually, all plugs were replaced about a year ago. I had the codes erased, but P0122 came back immediately. Next I unplugged the TPS and droe a couple miles, but did not notice any difference. After replacing the TPS, all codes erased. SES has not lit now in about 400 miles.

Default did the problem go away?

From what I've read about the newer computers if you reset them then it takes a good 400 miles to recompute all of the issues. Given your post date now should be a good time to determine if that had fixed the problem.

thanks for the follow up .... the SES light has not lit up again. also, several weeks after replacing the TPS, i bit the bullet and replaced the lower intake manifold gaskets, which put an end to the coolant loss.

there is another long standing issue that i am ready to tackle ... i'll put it in another post
