1998 c1500 4.3 vortec 2wd 4l60e
now that you have the background, heres my situation, bought the truck for $300, but have discovered the trans is junk. ie lots of metal in the pan/fluid no money to rebuild, so on the hunt for a replacement. I have a low budget but several options
1. replace with a 700r4 from a 84(i think) van free
2. replace with a 4l60e from a 96 s 10 4.3 $150
3. save $650 to buy one from the local junkyard
4. find an interchangeable one from pull a part for $65 pulled and installed myself and take a gamble of it being good
Whats my best option? and what will interchange and what wont? any help appreciated
