truck stalling out
hello,
I have a 1992 silverado with a 350 and only 107,000 miles. my problem is i dont know if it is timing related but i think it is. what happens is the truck barely starts without me having to push the gas pedal alittle bit, about like 7 seconds later it starts then it seems like it wants to die out. i replaced everything from TPS, IAC, new cap, rotor, wires, ignitoion coil and MAP sensor. i just put a new altenator in today and belt and what happend was the positive wire hit and sparked and is now not even wanting to turn, i cannot even hear the solenoid kick in.. also the truck is obviously running rich checked the plugs and they were pitch black. and also gas backfires out from the TBI then sometimes it acts funny and starts running good again.. also i noticed if im at a stop then go again and give it enough gas it stalls out.. any ideas.. thank you

well today i changed the starter and got it started heres wut happens ... starts up fine, ilet it sit for about 45 seconds then it just shuts off. i played with the timing numerous times but i think it goes off it mite be the distributor but idk.. any ideas?? plus for some reason my truck is running really hot for just 45 seconds

RE: truck stalling out
drove it today for first time in like a week. it idles really rough but stays on.. took it for a spin then let it sit for like 10 minutes and the engine became reallly really hot for some reason tried moving it and it wanted to die out and only went like 5 MPH.. also it sounds like its a Deisel when moving... also did not change the distributor was leaning towards that and, also yes it does idle bad before shutting off it spits out gas like 2 feet above the TBI im gonna try the Sparks plugs because they do look pretty black even tho they are like 3 weeks old... Ideas are appreciated.. thank you

yea its like 10 mph then it sounds like its missing. i also notcied that everytime i shut off my truck and turn it on i have to move the distributor cap around or else it wont start. so u think i need a new DIS. Thank you

RE: truck stalling out
You need to check the fuel pressure...After reading the `10mph thing,I think your hose on the pump is cracked and leaking, and your getting a very small bit of fuel...pretty common on K engines.
still could be a dist issue...try to establish if she loses gas or spark

Today i tried setting the timing set it at zero then i let it warm up then i advanced it 6 degreees and then i check it again and it started jumpin from 45 degrees and all over also it then shut off and i could not get it to start again.. fuel was not even squirtting from the jets..
