i realize you get what you pay for when it comes to tuning but since i have an older school truck with a pretty simple chip wondering if a chip from tbi chips.com would be worth it, he sells most of them on ebay.

I'd go with a Jet chip if anything. Their more reputable than some ebay brand. I had a Jet module in my Z28 and it worked fine. Not sure how much difference it made cause I never drove it before it had it.

I had tbichips.com do mine before I modded my 91' and I was impressed with the difference. I had to run 91+ (with the stage 1 chip) but the little 5.0 would actually pull hills and merge into traffic without redlining it. Then I added a TBS, vortec heads, duals, MSD ingnition system, 160 stat, intake and bigger injectors, etc... on my truck. I had him reprogram my chip (to a stage 2 for a nominal fee) and you would have thought I had a modded 350 under the hood with how well it ran. Do the Jet chip if you want, but this guy can "dial it in" for you based on your mods and the chip is easy to swap.

hmm... I didn't realize this was some respectable company. I figured it was another crack pot, fly by night company trying to make a quick buck from gullible ebayers.

I figured it too at first, but the guy has been around for the last five years and I've delt with him alot and recommended him to my friends. He just takes some of the guess work and alot of frustration out of modding the TBI motors.

Those heads make the engine come alive man. Those TBI heads are restrictive as hell. My old mechanic used the vortec heads on his circle track car over buying name brand heads.

I have a set of vortec heads from a 350 suburban gathering dust and rust in my garage. They are iron so shipping may be expensive, but, you are welcome to them. I no longer need them. They will need to be cleaned. The valves and springs are present. The springs will need to be replaced.

Just shipping. I'll even throw in the brown spider living in the exhaust port.
They are very heavy. I'll have to wiegh one and look up the cost. Maybe we can do a relay from orlando to MO.
