Default Turn off tire pressure sensors?

Have an 08 1500 LTZ with factory 20" wheels and thinking about some different wheels/tires for winter so my GM wheels aren't corroded by the salt. My truck is 4wd and the only time its in the snow is when its really bad out as my POS 2wd Ranger (daily driver) is helpless.

Anyway, I'm looking at ebay/Craiglist for maybe GM Chrome steel takeoffs and wonder if you can disable the tire pressure sensor on the truck. I'm capable of checking tire pressure and dont want to spend the money for sensors for winter tires.
Thanks
John

If you go with different wheels and tires, don't put sensors in the new tires. I'm not sure how the display on the dash will read, but I believe that this will solve issue.
