Question Turn Signal Indicator and Chime

I have a aftermarket stereo in my 2008 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab which I had installed over a year ago. Until recently, my turn signal indicator doesn't make a sound. Like that click, click, click sound it should make when making a turn. Also the door chime doesn't work either. No sound what so ever. All speakers are working just fine. Should I replace the wiring harness? I looked behind the radio and everything is hooked up. One thing I did notice is that when I tap on the little chime box behind the radio it works for a few seconds but then it stops. Does anyone know if they sell just the chime or do you have to buy the harness also. One stereo place told me they could order me the whole kit, chime and harness, for 120 bucks. does that sound about right? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone in advance who responds to my problem.

GM started running the door chime and turn signal noise thru the stereo back around 2000. May be wrong on the actual year. Any stereo shop or Best Buy sells the adapter you need to make it work. Costs about $40 to $50. It shouldn't be any problem to install since you already did the stereo install yourself.

Lightbulb Turn Signal Indicator and Chime

Thanks for the response azjetfighter. I appreciate it. This gives me a an idea of what I should try next. I was thinking of taking it to the Chevrolet place but they would probably charge me an arm and a leg. I know things don't last forever and but on the other hand there are things that last for the life of the vehicle, but are the chimes known to go out. Anyway I will try your suggestion. Again I thank you for your input. I will let you know how it's going.
