Well it would sure as hell give ya more room. They say you can gain quite a few hp from removing the belt driven fan. Wish I could get mine off!

Ya it does suck up water dirt and all that but not to much, just put a screen at the bottom of it.

I have not seen that much differents in mud and water with having a ram air tube. But the filter does get alot dirtier.
