Default vortec 5.7 questions??

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to buy a 2000 Chevy 3500 with the vortec 5.7 motor. I've never seen a dually with a 5.7. Will this truck have the towing power I think it will? I need to pull skidloaders and other construction equipment. It looks like a great truck only 54000 miles and a stick shift.

Thanks!!!

The stick shift will help, I had a 2500 with a 5.7 and auto trans and I wasn't happy with it so I got a big block. The 5.7 only got about 2 mpg better empty and got worse mpg towing so it is about the same for me as far as gas goes and the 454 has WAY more power.

If you're lucky... I get about 11.5 in the summer and hang around 10 in the winter. But it doesn't matter if I'm plowing snow or not :/ figure that one out

14 city 16.2 Highway........but I also have a 42 gal tank on a suburban....GMCSierrafan it is probably cause you have a 4x4.......that tends to kill the MPG......

My truck is a heavy 2500 which gives it the large heavy duty transmission, 8lug wheels, and 14 bolt rear axle. It's the same setup which the 3500 will have
