Default Wheatley Tune

Hey guys, what do you recommend changing on the Wheatley tune? And what have you seen from your tunes? Smoke20 I believe your truck is exactly like mine (except you have mods :P), what have you seen from your tune. I am getting the exhaust done this weekend and also plan on ordering the TBS. Which TBS do you recommend?

Wheatly tunes are fantastic ...it gave me a whole new truck. Smoke20, Hunt4Game and I all have '05 Crewcabs ...I just don't have a bowtie on mine.

I know that Wheatly had some issues in his personal life that slowed him down ...but hopefully he has resolved everything.

He's very knowledgable ...and, when you can get a hold of him, he's a pretty nice guy ...you can bounce a lot of ideas off him.

For your TBS ...most on this site have the Trans Dapt TBS ...some have the smooth bore and others have the torque curve.

As I understand it ...smooth bore is for mid-hi range...and torque is for low-mid range.... I have the torque curve and have notices gains throughout ...my wife even noticed it when we were cruising down the freeway doing 70 and I punched it to go around another car ...the response was immediate and I was up to 110 in a heartbeat. My wife punched me in the arm and told me to slow down. lol

lol...sounds like my wife

I sent him an eamil this morning asking about information on the tunes and he responded within a couple of hours with a worksheet to fill out. I am going to try and get everything else on before the tune so i do not have to get a re-tune within the first month.

What I have seen from the tune is immediate throttle response, holds shifts longer, shifts are fast, I had him set them to be much firmer when it was floored, and moderate when normal driving. Recalibrated for the tires, speed limiter set to 200. My 0-60 dropped by over 1.5 seconds. I am very impressed.

Another update. I towed my boat for the first time since my tune, and it tows soo much better. I can't even tell the boat is there. The only thing I don't like is it won't shift to 3rd until over 45 mph in tow/haul mode, so cruising at 35-40 holds it in a loud rpm range for my exhaust.
