Default Wheel spin in the ice

I have a 2WD 2000 Silverado 4.3 V6 which I have owned for the last 5,000 miles. It has 100k on it and I have no service history prior to my ownership although it has been looked after. I got stuck in the ice in a rural area and with temps well below freezing I had to try and get out. There was quite a bit of wheel spin and now I have a burning smell in the cabin like fluid has been overheated or something. I did get out by the way. Is there any maintenance action I should take or have I just wrecked the clutch etc?

Thanks for your help.

Just keep an eye on it. Let the problem surface, if it is a problem.

Id bet money that the smell was just your tire burning, the smell does stick around for a bit.
