I have a z71 with onstar, xm, and such. I have this black thing on the console on the ceiling that I thought was a mic for the onstar, but I have what looks more like the onstar mic right over my head ( looks like a 1.5" speaker ). Temp sensor maybe, who knows for sure though.

 

I have the same two items. What are they for? Let me know when you do.

 

I think the black thing on the console is the mic, and the small grill on the ceiling above your head is the temp sensor. I may be wrong, but that is what I was told.

 

its an aspirator..it has a small fan that draws air in so the a/c head (auto a/c only) can measure the cab temp by your head accurately

Would smokers have a higher probability of issues with the auto a/c system? How many people here have had problems with their auto a/c and are smokers? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

I don't know, but would think so. Look at your windows, and the film that builds up on them. It gets everywhere, and becomes sticky.

 

Um....I don't smoke. I took 500 hrs of Minimum Standards. Smoke is BAD!

Unless it's a diesel.
