I have a weird problem on a truck I just bought it is an 1989 k1500.
My turn signals do not work but my flashers work. Also my horn does not work and my high beam indicator light is on when the low beams are on and off when the highbeams are on. Other than that the curuise works so I am thinking the switch is still working in general. Any Ideas?

 

any evidence of shoddy wiring..or is it "clean?"...

 

Under the dash things look OK but I have not ruled it out. There are neat bundles of wires wrapped in electrical tape. What should my next step be? Should I buy and replace the switch? Should I check fuses? The dealer told me it would be$650 to fix so that option is out.

 

you need to get a test lite..spend a few bucks on a decent one (not a dollar store)

make sure the fuse actually has power across the tips...see if any power is getting to the sockets..the headlites...I dunno..if its factory wiring and such...it may have the wrong switch in it

 

How do I test the fuse? What is a test light?

 

test light is basicly a light and two wires, if you cross between negative and positive it lights up, so if you cross between the the to connections a fuse plugs into to, it should light up if you have power there.
