i am trying to put an scytek alarm onto my 87. i have actuators for the doors, but no idea on the best way to wire it. i know for sure i could drill thru the door near the hinge and run it thru the firewall....but that would leave visible wires when you open the door. is there something out there i can buy to not drill thru my door? or any other suggestions?

 

You might try running it under the hing in a way it wont get pinched. Im not sure how yours is but you might not be able to see it as much.

 

im thinking along the lines of having two plates that can touch each other when the door is shut? or will that not work

 

Hell yeah if you can get some plate that are reliable go for it. Maybe try radio shack. They use something like that on door alarms for houses. But it might have to be on the outside of the door inside the car.
