95 Dodge Dakota - heater/fan
Good Afternoon,
Can anyone advise us on what we can do to repair the heater/fan on our Dodge Dakota? Of course, one of the coldest days up here in New England and we have pulled the inside panel off but can't seem to find anything. We replaced the fuses but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any and all assistance. Deb

RE: 95 Dodge Dakota - heater/fan
sooo many dakotas have this problem. i just bought a 92 with the same problem so i tore the interior apart searching replaced fuses/relays what not but ended up looking on a dakota FAQ site and found that the resistor mounted on the passenger side of the firewall was the problem. apparently the black wire with (i think) gold stripe or somethin like that it tends to get hot and melt through the plastic resistor harness. you can replace the entire thing or like i did just put an end on the wire to fit the prong and put it back on n it worked fine. the lay out of the resistor is a block of 4 with a 5th one on the end.
