98 Dakota Sport - Add Power Mirrors
I have a very clean '98 Dakota Sport regular cab which I want to add power locks, power mirrors, and cruise to. I obviously don't want to spend a bunch of money on it, but with only 74k, it's worth a few hours time making it a little more comfortable for those weekend trips to the hardware store....
The locks presumably are easiest to handle with aftermarket alarms and I've done that before so no big deal, but if anyone has any suggestions on actuators etc. I'd appreciate that. As far as cruise, I understand my only option is an aftermarket kit, but if anyone knows anything I can do by picking up parts from a junkyard and easily adding factory cruise I would really appreciate that as well.
The power mirrors are my biggest question today as I have received mixed reports as to what I need to do. It is my understanding that the wiring should all be there and all I need to do is add a controller of some sorts, buy the mirrors, and add a switch and bezel. Does anyone know if these stripped down units originally came with the same wiring harness or if Dodge only installed the mirror harness in specific vehicles?

Let me start by Welcoming you to the forum.
If money was no object? I would shop for after market kits.
But if your on a budget, I would look for a Auto recycler or a Pick and Pull. The Pick and Pull auto recycler would be good cause your the one that removes it, which help you in knowing were and how it is installed.
I had to share a pic of my 98 Dakota Sport
