my 2001 ram 1500 4x4 with 5.9 and 137000 miles wont start. i disconnected the battery for 3 weeks as i was changing my radiator and doing some work under the truck ( after so long with battery disconnected the PCM memory gets wiped and the truck will start but not idle , it just dies . but after running for 5 to 10 min it will idle fine ( no biggie have had this when the battery was dead from me leaving the headlights on. it just takes awhile for the PCM to reset ) OK i get the truck running go for a little spin about 15 to 20 min come back let it idle for 15 min then it dies . then it wont start it acted like it was going to start for the first 2 or 3 times but then all it will do is crank over . i checked the trottle body to see if the injectors were working and if i was getting gas ( good ) then checked to see if the fuel pump is working (i get the little whirling noise when the key is in the run postion ) i then checked the fuel pump relay and fuse ( both good ) checked the ASD relay and fuse ( both good ) also checked the see if i was getting voltage at the PDC for both the fuel-pump relay and ASD relay both were fine . i then checked to see if i was getting spark ( i was NOT ) i started from the PDC and worked my way back looking for bad plugs, burnt wires and bad connections all the way to the coil then checked the primary and secondary resistance of the coil ( both were in spec ) then checked all spark plugs and wires ( all were good ) also checked all wires and eletrical connections in the engine bay ( all was good ) as i just did a tuneup ( new plug wires and spark-plugs new cap and rotor and air-filter and PVC valve ) about 2 months ago i didn't think it was any of these. so i am at a loss as to why i cant find the problem !!!!! any help would be greatly app.
