Default Engine question regarding the 4.7 vs Hemi

I am looking at the Quad Cab Ram. Ihave heard rumors that the 4.7 has had some lingering quality issues when compared to the Hemi. Is there any truth to this? If so, what are they? I understand that given the choice and money being no object, 99.9% ofyou would go for the Hemi. However, there is really no need for the extra power and resale value isn't a concern because if it is anything likethe last truck, it will be driven for 17 years.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Well i have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, Quad Cap, 5.7 HEMI. I don't know what the 4.7 is like, but my truck gets 22 on the Highway if i stay under 65 and 18 up to 80, but i have after market flowmaster and K&N air filter. If i keep it around 2,000 rpm's accelerating i won't get worse then 13.5. I've never only done highway driving but city and highway mix and i never get worse then 17 and thats keeping my foot out... But it's not a slow sucker!!!

Yeah see it sounds like the 5.7 gets better fuel economy than the 4.7 and the 5.7 goes 78 @ 2000 RPM's. I'd say but the HEMI

I have a 07 ram 4.7 and for pick up it is not to far behind the hemi. I do not know how top end and towing compares. With the gas prices now days I would go with the 4.7.
