Default interesting problem with oil pressure

I own a 1998 dodge 1500 5.9 v8....it looks very good runs well especially considering it has 110,000 miles on it....However after the engine is warmed up and im at a idle my oil pressure gauge will show a dramatic decrease. The needle will stay in the safe zone, but not by much and when i give it throttle it goes right back up. It reads fine whenever im driving in fact it reads 40 or a lil more. And Whenever i first start the truck the gauge reads fine as well, only after it is warmed up will the gauge show a decrease.

Just curious if this is normal or does the engine possible need to be rebuilt....

P.S. it uses oil but NOT MUCH.....

it COULD be a wacky sender...the only way to find out is to replace it though...or get it checked with a hand gauge

Seeing as the truck runs fine...is this really a critical problem?

i wouldnt worry about it, your oil when at idle and warm will stay lower oil pressure because the pump is running slower, its realyl no big deal, but if your worried brign it to a qualified mechanic

I have a similar problem. I can be driving down the road running at a normal temp and my oil preasure is normal and all of a sudden it pins out at 0 and the "check guages" light comes on. I think it is a bad sensor but like i said idk.
