Rear end ?

Rear end ?
Hey,
I have a 95 1500 with a 5.9 . I was driving today and all of a sudden it felt like I hit a 3 foot pothole (which there wasnt.) But now there is a "Ticking" if you will. if you let off the gas its not so bad, but when you pick up the gas it gets pretty loud. It is definately coming from the rear.
Any help or thoughts ??
Thanks.

RE: Rear end ?
Hmm......I haven't heard them tick. My rear end in my 1500 (95 also, only it has the 5.2) is going out, but it is more like a hollow roar or something, but not a tick. A tick could be a lot more then the rear end. It could be an exhaust leak, or even a transmission problem....
My advice is to crawl under the truck and take a look at the rear end. The plug that's under there should be facing the front of the truck, and if you see any kind of leakage around it, then your rear end may be shot. If you don't, start looking at the drive shaft (shafts if you have 4WD[front end too]) for any sort of wear and tear on the u-joints, and if that's not the problem, look at your exhaust.
