Default The FREE or INEXPENSIVE mod list for Fords!!!

One question that keeps coming up is what can I do to my truck that costs little or no money, to get a bit more power.

Well, there's an old adage that says there's no such thing as a free lunch. And that holds true with trucks, too. So, this attempts to provide some ideas of things you can do on a budget to get a little more power. Very few mods are free ;-) -- if you want real power, you'll have to spend some money.

1) Remove the slack from your throttle cable for a little better throttle response (up to '03 trucks)

2) Remove the air intake silencer

3) Clean your Mass Airflow Sensor for a better running engine

4) Gotts Intake Modification

5) Add a Throttle body Spacer

Now if you've done those things, you'll have to think about spending some money on the popular mods like cat-back exhaust, cold air intake kits, programmers/tuners, etc.

I will work up something on the Gotts mod and post it up sometime this week for those of you who do not know what it is.

Hope this helps

Default K&N is the best out there

I originally bought a S&B fror my 5.4L V8 f150 and it was a complete mess. After spending 2 hours trying to install it, my engine light was constantly flipping on. I ditched it for a K&N intake and they defiantly have it figured out at k&n. It took like 30 min to install had no problems and i can actually hear it sucking air when I get on the gas. It was only like 10 bucks more than the s&b. I found the K&N cheapest at www.coopscustoms.com

Default Spectre Cold Air Intake

Ive found that Spectre Air Intakes are good to, I noticed them on horsepower tv on the speed channel. I googled spectre and noticed www.intakesandaccessories.com has the spectre cold air intake for about 100 less than the K&N i bought.

just regular tune ups will improve alot. change your distributer cap and roter, spark plugs, and do an oil change. i have heard that thoes e3 spark plugs are actually pretty good too...never used them but ill probablly purchase a set the next time i change my plugs.
