97 F250 4x4 power advice
Greetings, I just acquired an F250 4x4 that is in very good condition. There are two minor things it needs, but other than that, the truck is in very good shape.
It has a 5.4L engine, and I am looking for all out power in the engine. I know people do what I call the kiddie mods (mostly bolt ons, intake, exhaust, etc), but is there anything like a computer re-flash, etc that can really help performance without a full on rebuilt? Maybe changing out the MAF sensor might help, but I am not pushing boost or anything, so I should not need it.
That being said, the truck sure is not built for speed, but even at the moment, I can pull and haul darn near anything I'll ever need to.

EDIT: Also it doesn't look like they have one for a 1997 5.4L

Correction please?
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is such an animal as a 1997 F250 4x4 with an 5.4. I am a retired ford employee and as far as I know Ford produced a 1998 F250 with a 5.4. I have owned a 1997 F250 4x4 with a 5.8 since Nov 97. It was the last year Ford used the 5.8. Anyway, I want to boost my exhaust system with headers and duals. I have one cat and one muffler with duals coming out the one muffler. I would like some suggestions, please. It has the orginal exhaust on it.
thanks
thanks
