With that big beast that is about all your going to get. All those little aftermarket goodies out there that make all kinds of mileage claims are, in my opinion, a waist of money. The ones that do make a slight difference are relatively expensive and you would have to put ALOT of miles on your truck to ever recoup your investment. I would spend my money making sure my truck was tuned up properly, air filter was clean, oil was changed on schedule, and drive like you have some sense. I personally have noticed an increase in mileage(especially when pulling) by using premium gas. Not so much when I'm empty (I run mid grade). If you think about it...say you put a $300 programmer or other gas saving device on your truck and it actually does give you a mile per gallon more. How long do you have to drive it to actually save an additional $300 in gas (not including the gas that you will still be putting in it). If you have a 30 gallon tank then you will get 30 more miles per tank of gas. So if say a gallon of gas is $2.00 right now it will take 150 fill ups just to pay for the add-on. I just don't see it!

I wouldn't buy one. I had one given to me so I put it on my work truck (2001 GMC 2500HD w/6.0). The ONLY difference I noticed is when the hood is up and I give it gas I can hear the motor sucking air more than with the stock box. I felt no difference in driving the truck or any mileage gains. Most companies don't tell you that the horsepower gains they claim are in the very top end of your motors RPM range where a normal driver will never get to. A few years back I was putting a 350 in a truck that came with a 305 and was REALLY close to ordering a complete Edelbrock fuel injection system. It was a $2000 system and claimed a 50HP gain. I got to talking with another mechanic and we brought up the Edelbrock website to see the horsepower chart. He brought it to my attention that yes the system will give you 50 more HP, but you would have to rev the motor to near 6000 RPM to get it. In the normal driving range 2000-4000 RPM there was a 15HP gain. That is alot of money per horsepower. Since then I have paid very close attention to what these guys are claiming and where you will realize it. When it comes to gas mileage it always comes back to a well maintained and tuned motor! If that 460 is more motor than you need sell it and get a truck that better suits your needs.
