Default few questions, ball joints and leaf springs

hi, im new to the forums as well as ford pickups. i just bought a 1997 f250 HD xl with a cap and 108k miles for $4200 the body is in excellent shape. so i have a few questions. first i noticed that the front suspension only has an inch of travel. the middle of the leaf spring, where it attachs to the axle is the highest point on the spring. is this normal? i know on most other vechiles its opposite or flat. also the leaf springs are attached to the axle at the top, not the bottom, is this the result of a SOA? secondly i got home and was lookin at it and my wheel was slanted quite bad, so i straighted it and its pretty slanted. is this the ball joint? if its not what could it be? also how hard is it to do myself? i know i would have to borrow a press but im just curious. thanks for your help -Tyler
