Hey everyone,
I am new to this forum and am in desparate need of some experienced advice.
I am in the market to buy a truck, and have been looking at a 2000 Ford F350 7.3 litre Diesel as well as a 2002 Chev 2500 6.6 litre Diesel. Which one has a better powertrain or is better overall and what should I be looking for when comparing the two? Any recalls or warranty issues on either of them, I know the LB7 had injector issues, any issues on the 7.3 litre that anyone knows of. I know the 7.3 is a better engine than the newer 6.0 litre. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are both fantastic powertrains and you won't be dissapointed with either of them. It'll come down to which one you like more

 

I sold my last 7.3 with 297,000 on it. I bought a Chevy gas and couldn't wait to get rid of that POS. I love all American brands but you can't go wrong with a 7.3. Go to a sight like "COPART" and search for a f350 and then sort by highest mileage first. Try this link at the bottom. They start at 595,000 miles and there must be 50 over 200,000. these trucks are all wrecked.. not dead. I am biased, but I love my 7.3.

My cousin has an 05 Chevy and is now on his 2nd set of injectors. he can out pull me and out run me. But I don't spend the cash he does and I am betting mine lasts longer.
