Default 1993 Surburban Frequent AC Compressor replacement

I have owned a 93 Suburban (454) for less than 2 years--and love it. I am on my 4th AC compressor (1 AC Delco, 3 CARQUEST). After install by local mechanic, the compressors quickly begin rattle loudly like a diesel engine. Is this a problem with the remanufactured compressors or something else in my truck causing the issues. BTW, I was required to replace dryer and install orifice filters after #2 compressor. Thank you!

So does your local mechanic know what he is doing? Sounds like he isn't putting in any PAG oil. Here are the system capacities. If the compressor doesn't come with oil, I'd add what it says below, or slightly less. Compressors don't go for no reason ... there's got to be bad pressure building up and your high or low side pressure switch isn't killing clutch coil, or the compressor ain't got no oil in it.

Default Problem seems to be SOLVED!

My mechanic found and GM alert released in 1995. It said the pressure valve located at the rear failed and either flooded or starved the front compressor. Replaced pressure valve and all is well....even after a 900 mile trip. Prayerfully this is the fix I have been looking for.

Thank You!
